Paul is a Virginia Beach native who dreams of moving. “I love the West Coast; I think San Diego comes close to perfection when it comes to the weather in this country, so if I ever decide to uproot and move out of VA I might head in that direction.” He began his modeling career when a friend of a friend asked him to be one of the two faces of a new web-based clothing line. From there he was recognized and has since modeled for Nations Clothing, Muscle Pride, Connex 247, BeautifulMag.com as well as being featured on several photographers’ web sites.
He loves modeling because he can break out of his shell. “With modeling I can be many different personalities and express so many things with each shoot, it’s an adventure each time I go on location, I still get the butterflies before each shoot but I think that adds to the whole experience. I love traveling and all the fantastic people I get to meet and befriend along the way.” According to Paul, to be a successful model you need dedication to the craft, determination, desire and the willingness to accept corrections and rejection. “The advice I would give to someone considering getting into modeling is; have confidence, don’t take yourself too seriously, recognize that there will always be competition out there, take rejections as a learning experience and a growth opportunity, no matter how great your portfolio may be, when a client is looking for a certain look or talent and you don’t get the call back, it’s wise not to take it personally.”
Paul isn’t your average model “I think one thing that sets me apart from some other models is that a lot of people would find surprising is that I work a full time 50 hour week corporate job and still find time to travel and model, I do not depend on modeling as my sole source of income because with today’s economy and the changing styles, one day your in and the next day your out.” His career as a model has mostly revolved around print work although last October he landed two commercial ads and a spot on a TV series, however he would like to change things up. “I can’t think of any particular person I’d like to model for at the moment but I would like to try some high fashion type shoots sometime, that’s one style I have yet to embrace.” As for his modeling inspiration “ I admire Joseph Sayers, I appreciate the way he has gone against the mold in modeling being that he is only 5'6"and has shown that size is not as important as presence.”
Paul’s main goal in life it to be content with everything he sets out to do. “ The key to true happiness really does lay withing ones self.” He also has a fierce determination to succeed in whatever he does. “If I can walk away after its over saying I did my very best then I am satisfied.”
Paul keeps in shape by eating clean, healthy foods and by staying dedicated to the gym. “I usually do one day of lifting, targeting my entire body using a Smith Machine, then the next day I work abs and do cardio, the next day off for a rest then start the cycle again on the next day so basically two days on then one day off. I believe eating healthy is a huge part of looking and feeling well. Clean foods and a good workout go hand in hand.”
